Partnerships

OIT works with many departments on campus to help them reach their goals and participates in a range of UC system-wide activities as well.  Even campus highlights like the Rams Camp and the Institute and Museum of California Art (IMCA) depend on IT services to bring acclaim to UCI. We partnered with a number of units (Wellness, Health, and Counseling Services, the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (OVPTL), Student Affairs, Transportation and Distribution Services, Office of Institutional Research) in disaster recovery planning, identifying systems with sensitive data, service health monitoring, UCPath integration, web site accessibility, and migration to cloud platforms.

Rams Camp

OIT provided the network infrastructure to support the LA Rams Training Camp at UCI.

Institute and Museum of California Art (IMCA)

With the Chancellor's Office, OIT created a long term support plan for the IMCA.

UCIPD

We assisted the UCI Police Department in their adoption of body cams, and integrated the campus emergency notification system (ZotAlert) with the Alertus PC pop-up notification service.

Career Tracks

Human Resources

With HR, we are installing and configuring software in support of the new CareerTracks employee classification system.

LARC

With LARC within the OVPTL, we are designing and building the first phase of a custom LARC enrollment system as a replacement for the Registrar's legacy enrollment mechanism. We built Cognos reporting in support of Campuswide Honors (CHP) data-driven decision making activities

FIRST, SOAR & FRESH

OIT replaced the training platform for FIRST (First-Year Internet Required Safety Training)

OIT updated the websites for SOAR (student outreach) and FRESH (sustainability).

KFS

We are providing and improving the infrastructure, business intelligence systems, and Portal for the Kuali Financial System.

Athletics

Athletics projects included assisting with registering the systems with sensitive data, helping student athletes and coaches assess mobile solutions, helping with their customer satisfaction survey, stabilizing their IT infrastructure by integrating with existing OIT commodity services, and jointly exploring how IT services might improve the fan experience.

OR

With the Office of Research, we are migrating data from Kuali Coeus to Kuali Research, including the integration of applications (e.g. Clinical Trials and Proposals), updating reports, and creating automation systems.

Student Affairs

With Student Affairs, we are enhancing the Student Affairs Learning Outcome application, creating a Dashboard in ServiceNow to track Student Affairs projects, incidents and tasks, performing a Campus Card Assessment (One Card), and helped develop a Student Affairs Conference mobile app.

DTEI

With the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation, we are coordinating support service offerings for faculty and TAs toward more transparent and seamless customer service experience during Canvas adoption and transition.

TDS

With Transportation and Distribution Services (TDS), we are assisting with selection, replacement and configuration of new parking dispensers, planning for replacement of iPool, implementing supervised mobile devices ("Cell Gate" project) and analysis of mobile software and security, making modifications to TDS Guest Permit System to allow for Volunteer Emeritus/Alumni Program, implementing improvements to Citation Management and Citation Appeals to reduce customer steps, and centralized related data as requested by TDS Adjudication.

Other Partnerships

We also have a number of roles at the UC systemwide level, including serving as chair for the systemwide Educational Technology Leadership Committee, the UCTrust group (which oversees cross-campus authentication), and the IT Sourcing Committee, representing UCI at the Software and Services Group (which negotiates discounted software and hardware contracts) and the UC IT Architecture Committee.
