Administration Tools

OIT supports a wide range of administrative applications on behalf of departments and their staff. This year was spent preparing for UCI's imminent launch of UCPath. Tools like DocuSign, Qualtrics, and Cognos make it easier to get the information you need and keep your business processes moving forward. The Student Data Warehouse, the COMPASS initiative, and the new Appointments tool all promote your effective support of our students and their success.

UCI's implementation of UCPath rolled out in January 2020.

Student Data Warehouse

The development of the Student Data Warehouse, along with new features and reports in COMPASS and Cognos, has put more data into the hands of campus decision-makers and student support departments.

DocuSign

OIT, partnering with the Division of Finance and Accounting, has deployed DocuSign, a secure tool for managing electronic signatures, for UCI.

Informatica

We're now using Informatica for systematic and reliable transfer of data into the Data Warehouse.

Appointments

OIT has also developed the Appointments application which allows easy creation, assignment, and coordination of appointments, intended for teams which jointly support large client bases such as students.

FACnet

OIT support for systems connected to FACnet has been improved, regularizing security patches, backups, software distribution, and establishing uninterruptible power for servers.

SearchBlox & Qualtrics

Replacements for two retired applications were made available to the campus: SearchBLOX, which succeeds Google Appliance for campus web searches, and Qualtrics, a tool for creating and managing surveys, a successor to EEE Survey.

Electronic Information Resource Inventory

OIT continues to register and document campus systems with sensitive information and supports the EIRIS application for departments to manage their server records.
