The opening of the new Anteater Learning Pavilion introduced an enriched learning environment for many courses. Upgrades to other classrooms and the new QuickStart guides extended that enrichment throughout the campus. Tools such as Yuja, Mersive, and Apporto complement the instructional hardware and empower instructors and learners alike. Tools like Gradescope, Macmillan Learning, Pearson MyLab, and Cengage extend the Canvas platform and enhance the teaching and learning experience.
Anteater Learning Pavilion
This year featured the opening of the new Anteater Learning Pavilion. Many faculty have completed certification in the use of the ALP's learning spaces.
Mersive / Solstice
Instructors can now wirelessly display their phone, tablet, or laptop displays on classroom projectors in select classrooms with the Solstice application.
MyEEE and other tools have been superseded by GrandCentral.
Wēpa
Printing for students has also been upgraded with the new Wēpa printing tool.
Canvas Integration
UCI Canvas has been integrated with a range of tools from other publishers, including Pearson, McGraw-Hill, MacMillan Learning, and Cengage.
Apporto
The popular Virtual Computer Lab has been decommissioned in favor of Apporto which allows students to run a broad range of licensed instructional software in their browser.
COMPASS
New reports for instructors in COMPASS help identify students for whom additional support can make a significant difference in their success.
SmartClassroom QuickStart Guides
"QuickStart" guides provide faculty handy reference materials for use of SmartClassroom equipment.
Legacy System Improvements
Many legacy systems have been succeeded by better, stabler, and more supportable tools.
EEE+ RapidReturn and Evaluations
EEE's RapidReturn and Evaluations have been retired, to be replaced by EEE+ RapidReturn and Evaluations.
Qualtrics
EEE Survey was retired in favor of Qualtrics.
YuJa
UCI Replay has been replaced with the more powerful YuJa tool which also offers captioning.
SmartClassroom Upgrades
Other SmartClassroom upgrades around the campus have enriched the learning environment for many courses.
